Analysis of Oversea Research on the Effect of Bed Head Position in Ischemic Stroke Patients
Kim Tae-Young

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the proper position of the head of the bed by reviewing the systematic literature on the articles that reported the effect of bed head position in patients with ischemic stroke.

Methods: The data collected from 2002 to 2017. A total of 82 papers were searched and a total of 7 papers were selected according to the topic.

Results: Six of the seven studies reported that when acute ischemic stroke occurred, blood flow increased when lying down rather than sitting, resulting in improved recovery and reduced disability. On the other hand, a study conducted by Anderson in 2017 showed that the sample size was larger than that of the previous studies, and that there was no difference when the sitting posture and the lying posture were compared at the onset of acute ischemic stroke.
Conclusion: Most studies have been conducted at small sample sizes. Although the results of studies with large sample sizes are different from those of previous studies, it is necessary to measure with ICP devices or TCDs in large sample sizes by measuring with other tools.
